🧰 About Tim
“Timothy to my mum (when I’m in trouble!)”
Tim Lawson has been working in the electrical trade since 1994, when he left school at 16 and joined a YTS scheme with Douglas Electronics. He later earned his electrical installation apprenticeship with Roger Hall Electrical Ltd. Inspired by his dad—also an electrician—Tim always had a passion for building electrical circuits at home.
Today, Tim is the owner and contracts manager at Tim Lawson Electrical. While the day-to-day jobs are handled by his expert team, Tim still enjoys rolling up his sleeves on smaller tasks and carrying out testing and inspection work. He also manages quoting, marketing, and keeping the business running smoothly.
🏠 Local, Friendly, Reliable
Tim takes pride in working in his home patch—Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Louth and surrounding areas—meeting friendly locals and working in all kinds of homes.
“Just because something works doesn’t mean it’s working safely.”
One of the most common issues Tim sees in homes is poor-quality work done years ago that causes unexpected problems today. That’s why he always recommends homeowners consider a full inspection when upgrading their old fuse box.
🐾 Outside the Toolbox
When Tim’s not on the tools, you’ll find him volunteering as a Sea Cadets officer, teaching marine engineering and coaching kayaking. He’s also a proud dog person—he’s had eight Labradors over the years!
He loves grabbing food and coffee in Abbeygate, Grimsby, and once even jumped out of a plane for charity (yes, really).
